Can you believe we’re just a few days away from the 2nd month of the 2nd semester? The school year is speeding along, but we’re going to slow down to share some very exciting information. This week, we’ll visit with Molly Plyler with our district’s department of innovation. She’s Director of STEM & Computer Science. She’s share details of a statewide Vex Robotics competition that JMCSS is hosting.
The district is celebrating academic growth and achievement at a number of JMCSS schools - including Arlington Elementary. Arlington Principal Dr. Shemon Reaves tells us why P.I.E is so important to success at AES. Plus, Christy Hays, JMCSS Fine Arts Coordinator for Art, Theatre, and Dance, shows us how support and funding for the arts have improved under Superintendent Dr. Marlon King. This is Episode Four!
It’s time to spotlight two exciting districtwide activities hundreds of students are participating in this semester! The Elementary Basketball jamboree tipped off this week and more than 1,000 people attended the event. Plus auditions were held for Annie Jr. Nearly 100 students tried out for the spring play!
