There are several traditions and annual activities among schools in the Jackson-Madison County School System - Madison Academic has had 5 National Merit Finalists in the past 5 years, South Side Boys and Girls Basketball teams compete for the state title - seemingly every year since 2014 - and for the 3rd year in a row- Scholars from Liberty Technology High School have represented the district at the state level in the Tennessee School Boards Association Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE) at Belmont University.
These Young delegates serve with distinction at the student school board conference - Zamarion Carter and Kennedi Taylor recently joined JMCSS School Board members - Andre Darnell, Harvey Walden, and Andrea Givens-Moore at the Tennessee School Boards Association Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE) at Belmont University.
