Henderson — Twelve individuals, many of them Freed-Hardeman University alumni, have joined the ranks of the 2022-23 faculty. All but one of them will begin their work this fall.
Adam G. Booher, a graduate of Lipscomb University and Florida State University, will become an assistant professor of music. Dr. Benjamin J. Clarke, a 2004 FHU alumnus, will be an assistant professor of computer science. He earned his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from Auburn University. Dr. Terry L. Edwards rejoins the FHU faculty after working at Faulkner University. A professor of humanities and of Bible, he earned his Master of Arts and Ph.D. from Florida State University. Hannah E. Graves, 2012 alumna of FHU, recently completed an M.A. from Ohio University. She will be an instructor in English. Joanne D. Greenlee, a newly appointed instructor in management and analytics, completed a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration at FHU.
In addition, the following individuals also joined the faculty. Beverly W. Ivy, who holds a B.S. and a Master of Education from FHU, will become the director of field experiences and an assistant professor of education. Dr. Geoffrey Mabe, a 1994 alumnus of FHU, will become an assistant professor of behavioral sciences in January 2023. He has also earned an M.A, from East Tennessee State University and a second M.A. from Johnson University and a Ph.D. from University of Tennessee. Greg Maples will move from director of information technology to a member of the faculty as an assistant professor of computer science and cybersecurity. A 1990 graduate of FHU, he is currently enrolled at Capella University. Dr. Neil Richey, a 1998 FHU alumnus, will become an associate professor of clinical mental health counseling. He holds an M.A. from Amridge University and a Ph.D. from University of the Cumberlands.
Lastly, these four individuals are also new members of the FHU faculty. Dr. Karen L. Sewell, joins the FHU faculty as an assistant professor of education. She holds the following degrees: B.S., Shorter University; and M.Ed. and Ed.D. from FHU. Joshua C. Taylor, who earned a B.S. from Amridge University and a M.S. from FHU, will be an instructor in behavioral sciences. Daniel D. Gaines is this year’s missionary in residence. He holds a B.A. and an MA. Min. from FHU. He has done mission work at the Andrew Connally School of Preaching in Arusha, Tanzania.
