The National Weather Service in Memphis announced Tuesday morning that a Winter Storm Watch will go into effect from late Wednesday night through Thursday evening.
Heavy mixed precipitation will be possible, with a total sleet accumulation of up two tenths of inch and ice accumulations of one tenth to four tenths of an inch possible.
Portions of West Tennessee, North Mississippi and East Arkansas will be included in this watch, NWS said.
NWS said impacts could include power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
