The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department and the Jackson Area Center for Independent Living (JCIL) have teamed up to offer COVID-19 vaccine to individuals living with disabilities.

JCIL now provides free rides to the health department for disabled individuals in West Tennessee wanting to get their COVID-19 vaccine. A worker will stay with the person during the visit, then take the individual home after he or she receives a COVID-19 vaccine. Call JCIL at 731-668-2211 to schedule a ride.

JCIL will provide a sign language interpreter at the health department for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing on the following dates:

  • Thursday, Apr. 29 (9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, May 4 (9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m.)
  • Saturday, May 15 (9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.)

A sign language interpreter will also be available when these individuals return for their second doses of vaccine.

Please bring a valid ID. All individuals aged 16 and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Madison County. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Call the Jackson-Madison County Public Information Line at 731-240-1771 or JCIL at 731-668-2211 for more information.
