FHU Dickson celebrates recent nursing graduates during a special ceremony.

Henderson, Tennessee (Feb. 18, 2021)–The Tennessee Board of Nursing recently released the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rates of the state’s 2020 nursing graduates. Freed-Hardeman University’s nursing program was the only Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the state to earn a 100% first-time pass rate.

Of the state’s 51 nursing programs, only five schools had a 100% pass rate. Two are associate degree programs, two are master’s degree programs, and one—Freed-Hardeman University—is a bachelor’s degree program. FHU nursing graduates also had a 100% first-time pass rate in 2019. FHU offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Henderson and Dickson.

The nursing program in Dickson currently has 68 students enrolled.  The fall-to-spring retention rate was 100%.  The first spring cohort began classes in January 2021 with 11 students.

In Henderson, 40 students (23 seniors and 17 juniors) are currently in the nursing program.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. develops and administers the nurse licensure examination. The final step in the licensure process, it determines whether candidates are ready to enter the profession.

The mission of Freed-Hardeman University is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship and service.
