Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 10,793 Cumulative Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 81-year-old female died Feb. 17 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Wednesday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 183 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 4 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 10,793 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 21 to 93.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
