There are over 1,395 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 156,329 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,396 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 27 additional deaths to 1,781.
There have been 156,329 recoveries, 2,021 more since Sunday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 6,978 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,213,949 tests have been taken, which is 16,633 more since Monday’s report.
