There are over 2,115 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there are 128,511 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,118 additional cases since Wednesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 24 additional deaths to 1,313.
There have been 89,151 recoveries, 1,861 more since Wednesday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 5,648 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,785,646 tests have been taken, which is 27,956 more since Wednesday’s report.
