Health Department Confirms Three Additional COVID-19 Deaths and 70 New Cases, 1,629 Cumulative Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms three additional COVID-19 deaths, according to a Thursday morning news release from the department. A 65-year-old female died Aug. 12, a 42-year-old female died Aug. 12, and a 65-year-old male died July 22 due to complications from COVID-19. There is now a total of 28 COVID-19 deaths in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 70 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,629 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison county.

The newest confirmed cases include 34 males, 36 females, and range from ages 2 to 90.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Fifteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
