Gibson County First Responders Appreciation Day will be held from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, August 1 and will be hosted by Hicks-Phelan-Taylor VFW Post 4798, located at 1202 Manufacturers Row, Trenton Tenn.
This is a day of community outreach to show support to the county’s first responders:
- Check out the static displays including fire engines, police vehicles, an ambulance, and a helicopter (weather dependent), to learn about the jobs from those who serve
- Support local charities with a $10 BBQ plate. (All first responders with ID eat free)
- Let the kids burn off some energy at the bounce house
- Dunk a local official at the dunking booth (provided by Trenton Elks Lodge)
- Come inside to cool off and check out our silent auction, bake sale, and cake drawing
- Opening Ceremonies begin at 12 pm with demonstrations every 30 minutes till 4:30 pm.

12:30 p.m. Milan Ladder Truck Presentation of American Flag
1 p.m. Vanderbilt Helicopter Landing *weather permitting*
1:30 p.m. Arson Dog Demo
2 p.m. “Jaws of Life” Demo
2:30 p.m. Dunk the Mayor
3 p.m. Fire Department Demo
3:30 p.m. Sheriff Department K9 Demo
4 p.m. Dunk the Sheriff
4:30 p.m. Closing Ceremonies/Presentation of Awards & “Check” w/remarks from Mayor Jackson (possibly State Reps)

Silent Auction Ends at 1559; Winners can pick up anytime between 1615 and 1730.
