The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 46 more confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford and a Friday morning news release from the health department. There are now 598 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County, with 161 active cases. Tedford said there are numerous more cases being documented.
A 62-year-old male died Thursday afternoon to due to complications from COVID-19, Tedford said.
The newest confirmed cases include:

The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.
Ten Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
Four hundred one Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 34 people say they are feeling better.
