There are over 780 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 29,126 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 786 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen to 468.
There have been 119,425 recoveries, 503 more since Thursday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 2,049 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 594,960 tests have been taken, which is 59,864 more since Thursday’s report.
