Madison County Highway Superintendent, Bart Walls, has authorized the closure of Old Medina Road, between Graves Loop Road (south connection) and Graves Loop Road (north connection), beginning on Saturday, JUNE 6, 2020, at 8 a.m., for the repair of a railroad crossing on Old Medina Road, a Thursday afternoon news release from the Madison County Highway Department. This work is expected to be completed and the road re-opened, by the end of the workday Monday, June 8, 2020.
The release said traffic that normally travels Old Medina Road, coming from the northern part of Madison County or the community of Medina into Jackson, or leaving Jackson heading to north Madison County and the community of Medina, should utilize alternate routes, such as Christmasville Road or the U.S. 45 By-Pass. There will be detour route signage directing traffic to use Christmasville Road.
The release also said to please be alert and considerate of the presence of highway workers during this time. Madison County Highway Department appreciates the cooperation and understanding of motorists while this work is completed.
