Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus in Madison County Monday morning, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the county to 75.
Kim Tedford, executive director of the JMCR Heath Dept., made the announcement during a virtual media briefing.
The newest patients include:
- a 40-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- a 67-year-old male (not hospitalized)
The release said the department’s epidemiology staff is also reaching out to the people who had contact with these patients.
The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases:
RACE:
Black or African-American: 42 cases, 56 percent
White: 13 cases, 17 percent
Asian: 2 cases, 3 percent
Hispanic: 1 case, 1 percent
Unspecified: 17 cases, 23 percent
GENDER:
Female: 41 cases, 55 percent
Male: 34 cases, 45 percent
HEALTH STATUS:
Recovered: 23 cases, 31 percent
Not Recovered: 22 cases, 29 percent
Better: 15 cases, 20 percent
Unknown: 15 cases, 20 percent
AGE:
0-10: none
11-20: 1 case, 1 percent
21-30: 12 cases, 16 percent
31-40: 8 cases, 11 percent
41-50: 14 cases. 19 percent
51-60: 23 cases, 31 percent
61-70: 13 cases, 17 percent
