Queens of the Stone Age have canceled more performances on their current tour, shortly after their run of July shows were canceled after lead singer Josh Homme had to return to the states for ’emergency surgery.’  The nature of the singer’s medical ailment has not been revealed.

The band announced the latest string of cancellations in a message in a post on X, “due to continued medical care, it is under doctors’ orders that Josh Homme remain in their care in the United States. The Homme family and QOTSA are so grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and kind understanding during this time.”

The new affected dates include several European festivals, including: Way out West in Sweden (August 8), Oya Festival in Norway (August 9), Syd For Solen in Denmark (August 10), Cabaret Vert in France (August 15), Lowlands in the Netherlands (August 16), Pukkelpop in Belgium (August 18) and Vilar de Mouros in Portugal (August 21). In lieu of Queens of the Stone Age, Jack White has been tapped to fill their slots at several upcoming festivals, including Øya Festival in Norway, Way Out West in Sweden, and Syd For Solen in Denmark.

The band, which is out on tour in support of their In Times New Roman album, are now expected to return to the stage this fall when their North American tour kicks off Sept. 27 with a two-night stand at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway. QOTSA will continue touring through Oct. 6 with a mix of festival and headline shows, as well as a show on Nov. 17 show on the schedule for Mexico City.

Tickets and other information on the remaining dates can be found at the band’s official website.
