MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Jan. 24, 2024) — Keeping children near the care they need with the family they love. The mission that has been the foundation of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis since 1991 is moving its way into Jackson to serve the families of Le Bonheur Children’s at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
This new RMHC® Memphis-Jackson, TN will be located on the second floor of the Hyatt Place hotel being built on the campus of West Tennessee Healthcare’s Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. This House will be able to serve up to 20 families and includes a community kitchen, a living area and a laundry area for families who need a home-away-from-home while their children receive medical care.
Construction began in December 2022 and is expected to be complete in winter 2024. Despite the fact that the physical house isn’t finished, Executive Director Jill Crocker has assembled a team in Jackson and is ready to begin serving families.
Grace Beasley, a 2022 graduate from Union University with a Bachelors in Public Relations, is serving as the Community Engagement Manager. Originally hailing from Murfreesboro, Beasley is excited to remain engaged in her college town.
“I am so excited to be working for Ronald McDonald House Charities and for the chance to be a part of something bigger than myself,” said Beasley. “I truly believe the Jackson community will help RMHC Memphis-Jackson, TN grow and serve families for many years to come. I am eager to help others from the community get better connected to the new house as we help children be near the care they need with the families they love!”
Breanne Huguenard, a 2011 graduate from Samford University with a Bachelors in Nursing, is serving as the Hospitality Operations Manager. Huguenard spent her nursing career in pediatrics, and has spent the last 10 years raising her children.
“Supporting families as they navigate stressful life circumstances is something I’m passionate about,” said Huguenard. “I know that the services RMHC provides will meet critical needs for the Jackson community and surrounding areas. I’m so grateful to be a part of this new endeavor and look forward to all the exciting ways we will partner with our community!”
West Tennessee Healthcare, Hunt Properties, GP and Le Bonheur Children’s all serve as partners to the RMHC Memphis-Jackson, TN House.
