NWS: Temperatures to Sit Just Below Freezing Wednesday, Wintry Mix Expected Thursday and Then Below Freezing Temps Return

Wind Chill Advisories are in effect areawide through 10AM today for wind chills between 0°F and -14°F. There is a possibility for a wintry mix tomorrow including freezing rain. More bitter cold on the way this weekend.
Today, Wednesday 1/17:
  • Early morning wind chills between 0° and -14°
  • Afternoon high temperatures just below freezing
Tomorrow, Thursday 1/18:
  • A low pressure system is expected to bring a wintry mix of rain, snow, and/or freezing rain
  • Freezing rain should transition to mostly rain in the late afternoon
  • A light glaze of ice will further worsen travel conditions
Friday – Sunday:
  • Temperatures will plummet below freezing again on Friday
  • This will re-freeze any slush/rain on the roads from Thursday, creating dangerous black ice
  • More bitter cold and single digit to sub-zero wind chills
  • Saturday and Sunday mornings look the coldest with wind chills between 0°F and -10°F
