The Jackson Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office wants the community to be aware of recent scams being reported.
Individuals are calling and asking citizens to send them money cards and threatening arrest if the citizens don’t comply, according to JPD.
These suspects are identifying themselves as DEA agents and spoofing Jackson Police Department’s phone number (731)425-8400.
The Jackson Police Department wants the community to know we DO NOT call citizens asking for money or threaten arrest by phone.
The sheriff’s office said the best thing to do is just hang up. Don’t give any personal information or send any form of money.
