The National Weather Service in Memphis said Thursday that a Wind Chill Advisory will be in effect from 12 a.m. to 6 .m. Friday. The wind chill will affect portions of north Mississippi and West Tennessee.
NWS said Tennessee counties that could be affected by this winter weather include: Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson, Lauderdale, Tipton, Haywood, Crockett and Madison counties.
NWS said very cold wind chills are expected and wind chills could be as low as zero degrees.
The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions aren’t taken.
Use caution while traveling outside. NWS said you should wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
