The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department will distribute second doses of COVID-19 vaccine at the Jackson Fairgrounds on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a Wednesday morning news release from the department.

Madison County residents ages 75 and older vaccinated at the Jackson Fairgrounds on Thursday, Jan. 7 must return Jan. 28 to get their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

In an effort to reduce wait times, we encourage citizens to please come during the following designated time slots based on the first letter of their last name.

A-C     9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

D-H     11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

I-O       1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

P-T      3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

U-Z     5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Everyone who received their first dose of the vaccine Jan. 7 will receive a second dose, so we encourage citizens not to come before their designated time slot. Individuals who cannot come during their designated time slot will not be turned away.

Residents should bring the vaccination card they received when they got their first dose of the vaccine. Please enter the Jackson Fairgrounds using the entrance on Magnolia Street.

The COVID-19 vaccines are not currently available to the general public. We will notify the public when we receive more vaccine and move to the next phase of distribution.
