
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 99 new COVID-19 deaths in Tennessee and over 5,395 new COVID-19 cases, according to Tuesday’s data from the department.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 617,649 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 5,399 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 99 additional deaths to 7,267.
There have been 539,207 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 3,246 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 22 hospitalizations.
A total of 5,686,467 tests have been taken, which is 13,228 more since Monday’s report.
