Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 6,265 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 55-year-old male died Nov. 24 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Monday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 114 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 24 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 6,265 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 6 to 81.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Five of those patients are on a ventilator.

The health department reported Saturday, Dec. 5, that it received positive test results for 83 more cases of COVID-19. Those confirmed cases ranged from ages 3 months to 92.

The department reported 60 more cases Sunday, Dec. 6. Those confirmed cases ranged from ages 3 to 73. The department also confirmed the death of a 79-year-old male died Dec. 4 due to complications from COVID-19.

The department also released following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
