TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 4,355 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 4,875 Deaths

There are over 4,335 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 392,608 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 4,356 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 95 additional deaths to 4,876.

There have been 351,553 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 2,485 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of  11 hospitalizations.

A total of 4,618,937 tests have been taken, which is 24,980 more since Thursday’s report.
