There are over 1,460 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 152,280 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,465 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 24 additional deaths to 1,725.
There have been 114,099 recoveries, 786 more since Friday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 6,817 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,173,406 tests have been taken, which is 21.391 more since Friday’s report.
