Health Department Confirms Two Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 2,237 Cases In Madison County

 The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 86-year-old female died Aug. 26 and a 73-year-old male died Aug. 29 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Saturday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 43 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 32 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 2,237 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 17 males, 15 females, and range from ages 11 months to 88.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Four of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
