TN DEPT. OF HEALTH REPORTS OVER 1,775 NEW CASES OF COVID-19, OVER 610 NEW RECOVERIES AND OVER 843 DEATHS

There are over 1,775 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Sunday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Sunday, there are 78,115 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,779 additional cases since Saturday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 5 additional deaths to 843.

There have been 44,314 recoveries, 613 more since Saturday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 3,681 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 1,196, 543 tests have been taken, which is 23,630 more since Saturday ’s report.
