There are over 2,515 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturay, there are 76,336 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,517 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 23 additional deaths to 838.
There have been 43,706 recoveries, 972 more since Friday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 3,649 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,172, 913 tests have been taken, which is 22,922 more since Friday’s report.
