The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 12 more confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford. There are now 471 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest confirmed cases include:
- 69-year-old male (hospitalized)
- 57-year-old male (hospitalized)
- 45-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- 59-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- 80-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- 61-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- Unknown male (not hospitalized)
- 59-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- 21-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- 83-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
- 58-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- 92-year-old female (hospitalized)
According to a Monday morning news release from the department, the epidemiology staff are still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.
Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
The release said 311 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 30 people say they are feeling better.
According to Amy Garner, West Tennessee Healthcare Chief Compliance & Communications Officer, there are 54 COVID-19 positive patient in the West Tennessee Healthcare system (which Garner said is the highest number since the pandemic began), there are 22 patients in ICU and 12 patients on ventilators.
According to Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris, one jail employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and four employees are in quarantine.
