The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for four more confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to a Monday morning news release from the department. We now have 242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest confirmed cases include:
- a 34-year-old female (not hospitalized)
- a 37-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- a 12-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- a 52-year-old female (not hospitalized)
The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to reach several of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.
Five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
Director Kim Tedford said the number of those with COVID-19 is expected to increase Tuesday morning.
The release said 200 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and six people say they are feeling better.
