There are 425 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 34,446 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 425 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen to 524.
There have been 22,838 recoveries, 307 more since Friday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 2,266 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 675,101 tests have been taken, which is 7,765 more since Friday’s report.
