Shots Fired Investigation Leads to the Arrest of Two Juveniles in Stolen Vehicle With a Gun

Two juveniles have been arrested and charged during a shots fired investigation by the Jackson Police Department, according to a news release from the department.

The release said at 5:35 a.m. Friday, June 19, Jackson police were dispatched to a shots fired call in the area of Conalco Drive. Officers observed juveniles running in the area of Royal Arms at 1580 N. Royal. Officers then saw two juveniles get into a car in Royal Arms and drive away at a high rate of speed. Police got into a short vehicle pursuit that ended when the car crashed into a semi-tractor-trailer truck that was stopped at the intersection of Whitehall and N. Parkway.

Police identified the driver as a 15-year-old male and the passenger as a 14-year-old male. Officers found the passenger in possession of a handgun. The investigation also revealed that the car had just been stolen from a home on Point-O-Woods Drive. Both juveniles were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The release said both juveniles were charged with theft of property Over $1,000 for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. The driver was additionally charged with felony evading arrest, and the passenger was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
