There are 400 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 25,520 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 400 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen to 408.

There have been 16,925 recoveries, 282 more since Thursday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,893 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 482,172 tests have been taken, which is 6,034 more since Thursday’s report.
