HEALTH DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS 179 CASES OF COVID-19 IN MADISON COUNTY

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for two more confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to a Friday morning news release from the health department. Madison County now has 179 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The newest cases include:

  • a 32-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • a 47-year-old female (not hospitalized)

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to people who had close contact with these individuals.

Two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with one of those patients on a ventilator.

The release said 162 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and nine people say they are feeling better.
