The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department plans to temporarily close the Oakfield Convenience Center on May 20 and May 21 for repairs, according to a news release from the health department.

The convenience center, located at 199 Oakfield Road, is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21 to the public. Workers will be paving at the site.

“The site will be closed as this project takes place for the safety of the public and the workers on site,” Environmental Health Program Director Candy Overstreet said.

The release said Madison County residents can take their household trash and recycling items to one of the county’s nine other convenience centers. Other nearby sites that accept household waste include:

  • Passmore Lane Convenience Center (located at 95 Passmore Lane)
  • Pipkin Road Convenience Center (located at 21 Overpass View)
  • Highway 70 East Convenience Center (located at 1932 Highway 70 East)

A list of Madison County Convenience Center sites can be found at https://www.madisoncountytn.gov/183/Solid-Waste.
