A total of 15,594 inmates have been tested for the novel coronavirus in prison facilities statewide, according to Tuesday’s statistics from The Tennessee Department of Correction. Within that total, 1,848 inmates have tested positive, 13,125 inmates have tested negative, and 618 inmates have recovered.
The statistics also showed that three inmates have died from the novel coronavirus. The causes of the deaths are under investigation and pending the results of the inmates’ autopsies, according to the stats.
The stats also showed that 55 TDOC employees have tested positive and 25 employees have recovered.
