The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for two more confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday morning, according to Kim Tedford, executive director of the Jackson Madison County Regional Health Department. Madison County now has a total of 111 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The most recent cases include:

  • a 57-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • a 43-year-old male (not hospitalized)

According to Tedford, both of these new cases were tested at the Jackson Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 18.

Tedford said the department has reported 13 positives from the weekend drive-through assessment, with one inconclusive, and 12 positives, with two who were already in the positive count for the county.

Tedford said three people showed no symptoms when they were tested, while six had symptoms. All of them are at home in self-isolation. Three of the nine can trace how they contacted COVID-19 to another positive person. But, six of the newest cases can’t.

Tedford said she expects the number of confirmed positive cases to go up Wednesday afternoon.
