Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department reported two new cases of the novel coronavirus in Madison County Friday afternoon, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the county to 95, according to a news release from the department.
The most recent cases include:
- a 21-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)
- a 47-year-old male (not hospitalized)
The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to reach one of the patients, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. It is also reaching out to people who had contact with these patients.
The department also announced Madison County’s first COVID-19 death Friday morning.
AHC Forest Cove:
The health department also confirmed five people have tested positive for COVID-19 at American Health Communities (AHC) Forest Cove in Madison County. Two residents and three employees tested positive and both residents are currently hospitalized, the release said. Two employees have already recovered and one employee is self-isolating at home. The department’s epidemiology staff and Tennessee Department of Health have been in contact with the facility and these patients.

Black or African-American: 54 cases, 57 percent
White: 16 cases, 17 percent
Asian: 2 cases, 2 percent
Hispanic: 1 case, 1 percent
Unspecified: 22 cases, 23 percent

Female: 54 cases, 57 percent
Male: 41 cases, 43 percent
HEALTH STATUS:
Recovered: 34 cases, 36 percent
Not Recovered: 26 cases, 27 percent
Better: 14 cases, 15 percent
Unknown: 21 cases, 22 percent
AGE:
0-10: no cases
11-20: 2 case, 2 percent
21-30: 15 cases, 16 percent
31-40: 10 cases, 11 percent
41-50: 20 cases, 21 percent
51-60: 30 cases, 31 percent
61-70: 13 cases, 14 percent
71-80: 5 cases, 5 percent
80+: no cases
