Starting Monday, March 30, all City of Jackson parks will be closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to two City of Jackson officials.
Tony Black, Executive Director of Recreation & Parks, announced on Facebook that ALL City of Jackson parks will be closed starting Monday, March 30.
Black made the announcement in a post during a Sunday evening Facebook Live hosted by City of Jackson Councilman Johnny Dodd.
Dodd reiterated the fact that parks would be closed during the Facebook Live event. Dodd said the closing of the parks is to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
