As of 10 a.m. Friday, there were three COVID-19 positive patients at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, according to Amy Garner, West Tennessee Healthcare Chief Compliance & Communications Officer.
Garner said during a Friday morning media briefing that one patient is from Madison County, one is from Chester County and the new patient is from Benton County. The patient from Benton County was transferred from a medical facility outside of Madison County.
Garner said while she didn’t know the status for the patient from Benton County, she did say the patient from Chester County is in ICU, while the patient from Madison County is not in ICU and is not on a ventilator.
Garner also said she wanted to reassure the public that ‘the hospital is safe.”
“Our hospital staff is highly trained to take care of these patients, wearing personal protective equipment and our staff is cleaning constantly,” Garner said.
Garner also said all employees are having their temperatures screened twice a day as they continue to follow CDC guidelines.
